Get a University Education during Your Work Hours!

The collaboration between the HSE Academy, your employer and the University of Stavanger entails that our training program in HSE can be accredited for study credits. The number of credits attainable can vary from 5 to 30 depending on the course level, and it will also be possible to build upon the study program towards earning a Master’s degree.

Admissions Requirements for Courses Involving Study Credits

All participants who wish to enroll in courses which offering study credits must be able to document that they fulfill the enrollment requirements which apply to the University of Stavanger – this means that they must have documented general study competence or practical competence.

General study competence entails that the applicant must have successfully completed their 3 year upper-secondary education with coursework in the subjects of Norwegian (4+5+5 hours), English (5 hours), Mathematics (5 hours), Natural Science (5 hours), Social Science (6 hours), Modern History (4 hours) and Civics (2 hours).

In order to qualify based on practical competence, the applicant must have turned 25 years of age in the year of enrollment and possess 5 years of full-time work experience or a combined 5 year’s worth of work experience and education. Social work and compulsory military service also qualify as work experience respectively.
